The Bridge I Never Crossed
A single ring about a love that could not be reached
Completed 2026.05.26
There was someone he loved but could not hold on to. It was not a short sadness. It followed him for years, like a river running underneath a wooden bridge that had grown old and worn. He said it felt like this: he could see the other side clearly, but every time he tried to cross, he was afraid the boards would break beneath him. So he never reached where he wanted to go. He asked me to make a ring from that feeling. The band is solid and heavy, but the surface is left rough and weathered, like wood touched by rain and time. Inside, the silver is smooth, because the part he keeps close to him is still soft. It is not a ring about being broken. It is a ring about the strength it takes to keep hoping, even when the bridge does not carry you where you wanted to cross.
A single ring commissioned from the feeling of an unrequited love, shaped like an old bridge that was never safe to cross.
